I forgot my password
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot your password? and enter your email. We will send you a reset link. Check your spam folder if it does not arrive within a few minutes.
I used Sign in with Apple and do not recognize my email
If you chose Hide My Email, Apple created a private relay address that forwards to your real inbox. You can see it in iOS Settings, under your name, Sign in with Apple, Aptiva.
Why do I need an account?
Your preferences, pantry, plans, saved recipes, and Community profile belong to your account, so they stay private to you and follow you across devices.
How do I delete my account?
Open your Profile, tap Settings, then Delete account, and confirm. See Delete your account for what is removed.
How do I get a copy of my data?
Open your Profile, tap Settings, then Account and sync, then Export my cloud data.
Recipes and recommendations
Why am I not seeing a recipe I expected?
Aptiva leaves out recipes that conflict with your allergens or diet, or that it cannot confirm are safe for them. Review your preferences in Settings.
Can I rely on the allergy filtering?
It is careful but not perfect. Always read ingredient labels and check with restaurants yourself, especially for a severe allergy.
Where do the nutrition numbers come from?
They are estimates from standard ingredient data. They are general information, not medical advice.
Ask Chef and AI features
What is Ask Chef?
An AI cooking assistant for questions like substitutions and what to make with what you have. Answers can be wrong, so double-check anything about allergies or health.
Why can't I use Ask Chef?
Ask Chef, dictation, photo questions, and recipe writing help are only for people 18 and older. They are turned off if the birth year you entered at sign-up shows you are under 18. If your birth year is wrong, contact us.
What information does Ask Chef use?
See the AI section of our Privacy Policy. You can clear what Ask Chef remembers from its Memory controls.
Community
How do I report a recipe, review, or person?
Tap the … menu on it and choose Report. We review reports within 24 hours.
How do I block someone?
Tap the … menu on their recipe, review, or profile and choose Block. Their content disappears for you right away.
Why hasn't my review appeared yet?
Reviews are checked before other people can see them. You can see your own right away.
Permissions
Why does Aptiva ask for my camera, microphone, photos, or location?
Only when you use a feature that needs it: the camera for a dish photo, the microphone for dictation, photos to attach an image, and location to find nearby restaurants. Change these any time in iOS Settings, Aptiva.
Cost
Does Aptiva cost anything?
Aptiva is free to download and use. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
